I decided to try something a bit different this week. My son, Connor, had to write a blog post for a class he is taking, so I asked him if I could use it for our blog. He said yes! Although, he did say he was not interested in making this a regular thing. 🙂 I made a couple of changes because he used a link that I was unsure if we were able to use in here, but you will see that change in parentheses. The rest is all him. Yes, I am aware that there were some grammatical errors but that is what he is learning, so I left them. Maybe someday, after he has written his own book and has a blog of his own, he will get a kick out of looking back at where he started. 😉 So, without further adieu, I present to you, Connor’s first blog post!

Intro

When your mom and/or dad let you finally get Minecraft and you think you have seen so many youtubers play that you will be a pro then you mine a diamond with a stone pickaxe, try to make an iron pickaxe with iron ore, and try to enchant a totem of undying. These are all impossible if you did not know so I will be telling you about how not to do these things on your first run. On my first run I mined a diamond with a stone pickaxe after trying to make a iron pickaxe with iron ore.

Get 20 logs

                                                         ———————————

So I get 20 logs with my fist as soon as I log into a new world. But just in case i get 5 saplings so I can repopulate and not have to go to a forest to get more wood.

Make wooden pickaxe

After I get logs and saplings,I always make a wooden pickaxe and use it all the way till it breaks so I don’t waste wood and just throw it out. You could smelt the wooden pickaxe and turn a wooden pickaxe into an iron pickaxe.

Stone tools

                                                          ————————————–

With the stone, make a full set of stone tools and get 30 iron ingots. With those ingots make full iron armor, a pickaxe, and an axe.

House and Bed

Now that you have a full set of iron armor and tools kill 3 sheep and make a bed. I as a noob make a 5-5 house with a chest, crafting table, and a furnace.  (You can find specifics of how to do this on YouTube.) 

Y-11

                                                              ————————

Somewhere close to your house go to y-13 or y-11. y-11 is the best place to look if you need a large amount of diamonds like 30 to make a full set of diamond armor, an axe, and a pickaxe.

Get 4

                                                           —————————-

Using your diamonds make an enchanting table, you will need a book, 4 obsidian, and 2 diamonds. Make the table and get lapis. Enchant the axe and pickaxe.

Extra tips

                                                             ————————

Always get a water bucket so if you fall from a high place you can MLG or if you find a lava pool you can make a portal to the nether. If you find a lava pool make sure you know where it is at all times.

Now that you have done your research you can play Minecraft like a pro. I did all of these steps and got to the nether in an instant so have fun and be ready for the nether tips.
